Eeeeeeitssopretty

SO PINK!

My friend is pretty good at coloring manga pages. So today I tossed her my first Vexing page.

Long story short I have a new colorist. <3 Thank you Courtney M!

Anyway I would love to write a post but my apostrophe key is not working. Meaning typing is very awkward because I can not use contractions. So maybe I will just post something later. Hopefully see you then.

Vexing, Page 3 (Cover Page for Chap 1)

NOTE: Septembre is the name of the volume. The title of the graphic novel itself is Vexing, still.

Just who is this mystery woman? You'll have to wait til next week to find out. Anyways, I was done early (again) so I thought I'd be nice and post it. But now I'm starting building a buffer, so I will -not- be posting them early from this point on.

Since this is the start of chapter 1, I drew a nice little sketch of one of the important players coming in soon. I like the idea of having as a sketch instead of a mouse-inked shot, because quite honestly this is one of the best drawings I've done in a while. There is a NSFW version as well, but I will wait to post that up when Vexing has its own website. You'll just have to wait for that as well. <3

The flower shown is an Arabian Jasmine. It's the national flower of the Philippines. It's used in many folk medicines, is used for Jasmine tea, and is used for hair adornments and leis. It's the symbol of devotion and eternal love.

Anywho, I'll see you guys tomorrow. Sorry for those waiting on more video game reviews-- there is a reason why I'm taking a while to review Time Hollow (hint: It's awful.)

Because Every Nerd Wants to Learn Japanese

I'm sure that every other person out there who loves anime, manga, and other various Japanese things wants to learn the native language of the art they love. I always have a good laugh when I hear some nerd saying things like, "I'm learning Japanese by watching anime! I'M STUDYING LOL!"

First off, most Japanese used in anime is very informal and is therefore rude to use in an everyday setting (unless you're going to be talking with very close friends). Second, this does nothing to teach you how to read Japanese, so if you're planning to go there, you'll end up being a very annoying tourist, asking everyone what a simple sign means. Third, if you're just learning on your own through anime, you are relying on your own inferring skills, so simply put, you're going to mess up someway somehow. There might be a grammatical rule that you don't understand, difficulties with pronunciation, amongst other issues.

Vexing, Page 2

Missed Page 1?

Cosette and her sister are close, aren't they?

I have no idea what her sister is reading. Anyways I was done early so I thought I'd let this be my daily post. I tried out a new inking style and think it worked out pretty well.

Don't really feel like typing up a long winded speech; I'm a little beat. Oddly enough I ended up quitting my job. They were going to fire me for having the gall to leave an hour early because I had a medical issue I needed to take care of. So I beat them to the punch. Of course, now I need a job, since Nerd Spiffy certainly isn't at the point where I can take care of things.

But yeah, I have bills to pay, so I'm going to be spending most of my free time looking for another day job. Luckily this is a tourist area so all the hourly places are hiring. Speaking of which, I need to go do that. See you tomorrow!

Vexing, Page 1

cosette gurl you gotz some bad bed hair i feel yo pain

Ah, so this is the real reason why I've been taking a while. Mostly character design, story development, all the fun finishing touches to the unfinished work. Yes, this is the lesbian one. I know what you're thinking: "Wait, she said something about a prince! So isn't she really a bisexual? I want my lesbian seckzorz!1!eleven!" Wait and see folks... Anyways, I'm really happy about how the mini-dream sequence and the chibi Cosette came out. The pillow is Gawd Awful though.

So what is Vexing about? It's mostly a graphic novel playing with themes that have always caught my attention: fairy tales, female homosexuality, gender issues (both female and male sexism-- yes, male sexism DOES exist, ladies) and other things I don't care to reveal at this point. I promise to not make this like so many other LGBT stories where everyone except the bad guys are gay on some level-- even though I'm bi, I have always found this annoying and want some level of realism. waitjenathisisagraphicnovelwhatdoyoumeanbyrealismstfu.

Next update Vexing update coming Wednesday. Pretty soon it'll have its own private home away from my blog.

Up Coming Changes

Well, I'm sure most of you have figured out that Nerdspiffy is becoming a big part of who I am lately. I mean, I spend a large amount of time reviewing things and playing new games for it. Plus, I'm starting a webcomic up, which is a big commitment in itself. And I'm starting up a new one, a fantasy drama about lesbians.

This means little-to-no cutbacks with Nerdspiffy. But I will have to cut out other projects I've been involved in up to this point. I'm not quitting a job or anything like that, since I certainly don't earn enough money from this website to support myself... yet.
